Portrait of Cesare Borgia portrayed by François Arnaud, 47,4 x 33,9 cm, bristol paper, graphite pencils (2H to 8B), nearly 32h.
An great character and a great actor from an other Showtime series I love, the Borgias. Son of the pope Alexander VI Borgia, Cesare (1475 - 1507) was 17 when his father appointed him cardinal. But the young Cesare prefered weapons and wanted to lead his army... He probably murdered his own younger brother, Juan, commander of the Papal armies and then abandonned his religious fonctions and became the new Gonfaloniere...
The reference I used was different : I added the dagger and the cardinal clothes. He just had his ring, but I wanted him as a cardinal (and that's more elegant than the shirt he wore on the picture x))
I'm sorry for the quality of the picture ; the portrait is really dark and it shone a lot when I scanned it. I fixed it with Photoshop ; anyway, I think that this image is faithful to the original drawing regarding contrasts and darkness. I'm sorry too because there won't be any WIP for this portrait, my camera is broken...
Aww I can't stop staring at it...he's so damn handsome and you did a great job, especially with hair and eyes, I love it ! I can't believe it takes you only 32 hours
