Ursula - From the movie to the drawingby ~Stanbos

From left to right :
Picture from the Little Mermaid (Disney, 1989) ; model realized on Photoshop CS5, nearly 20h ; portrait of Ursula, bristol paper, 33 x 43 cm, graphite pencils (2H to 8B), 27h.

For my exhibition in September, entitled "Beauties & Villains". I wanted a portrait which could cross these two kinds of cinema characters. What could be classier than Disney villains ?

So I chose Ursula, the villain of the Little Mermaid. But I always prefered realistic portraits, I had to create my own model for this drawing.

Making frightening bad villain from the most beautiful women I know... I used elements of the faces of Ava Gardner, Marilyn Monroe, Jean Harlow, Uma Thurman, Gwen Stefani, etc., I modified, gathered them and added other elements in order to recreate this wonderful monster.
